New Team Stands Up for The New Masonic Year

Croyden Masonic Hall, the home of Porchway Lodge, witnessed one of the best installation ceremonies in recent times, where Brother Neil Gibson was placed in the Chair.

Whilst meeting numbers have been on the decline, it was a great delight to see there were over 20 Freemasons attending Worshipful Master Neil’s promotion to the top job as the Lodge’s “boss”.

During the meeting, W.Bro Malcolm Robinson conducted his last official duty as a Lodge Officer (spanning over three decades of service) as Secretary. During his time he has also been the Lodge’s Master and Director of Ceremonies.

This year, Porchway were treated to an honoured guest, W.Bro Kevin Gillet (from Templar Aquila Lodge No. 9450), reciting a key part of the ritual which was to the newly appointed Wardens (the guys who are Lodge Masters in waiting).

On retiring from office, W.Bro Malcom said, “It has been a long run, around 30 years, since I started taking a very active part in the Lodge. It’s now time to hand over the reins, and wish W.Bro Jim Bull all the very best as our new Lodge Secretary.

I am pleased my guest and personal friend, Kevin, was with me today and stepped up to the mark to do a key set piece during the ceremony”.
