Brethren Receive Provincial Honours

Porchway Lodge was honoured in the annual promotions where the Provincial Grandmaster confers honours of brethren with the Province of Surrey that recognise their significant contributions to Freemasonry or society.
In the case of our Lodge, we were delighted that two of our Brothers were recognised for their personal contributions.

The location was very auspicious being the Grand Lodge of England (Great Queens Street) and the occasion being the Annual General Meeting of the Provincial Grand Lodge of Surrey led by our Provincial Grand Master, Right Worshipful Ian M Chandler.

Against a backdrop of a sweltering day, four members of our Lodge as part of a cohort of over 700 brethren from across the Province of Surrey assembled for the AGM and to support a small number of distinguished brethren to receive their honours at the hands of our Provincial Grand Master.
This year, W.Bro Bill Hubbard received the honour if being conferred the Masonic title of Past Provincial Grand Standard Bearer whilst W Bro. Kevin Rolfe received the honour being promoted to Past Provincial Assistant Grand Pursuivant. Supporting them from Porchway Lodge were W.Bro Steve Poole and W.Bro Malcolm Robinson and W.Bro Barry Macintosh.

In keeping with masonic tradition, the AGM was followed by a sit down lunch in the Connaught Room , known as a Festive Board at which brethren as one voice celebrate the deserved rewards of those receiving honours.
