The Roots of Freemasonry – W.Bro Alun Evans A Big Heart
W.Bro Alun has been doing things for people and bringing sunshine in to their lives for what seams like forever. Strange it may seem, that today, he is person labelled a Freemason with what appears to be very senior rank or status in the system. However, his journey has been long, at times very hard, yet deeply rewarding.
All those years ago, Alun worked in PR for Vickers who at the time, built the Chieftain main battle tanks for the British Army.
Also during this time, when not playing with big tonka toys, he was involved in helping out in care homes and came up with the idea of entertaining the elderly.
With his side-kick they toured the local care homes bringing smiles to peoples faces. Alun and Co. did this for many years, and doing so, brought a huge amount of laughs and joy to not residents as well as to those who looked after them.
Alun, always likes to play the fool, and spent much of his time clowning around and fine tuning the gift of the gab.
Things turned more serious when he went to Nepal and went walk about in the high hills of the Anapuran mountain range. During one of his over night stops he met a particular set of very young orphans, two of whom he and his wife later adopted. Alun brought them back to the UK as family. Ever since then, he and his wife have nurtured them as their own. They are now fully grown and have flown the coup and grown in to something special.

Commenting on adopting two Nepalese boys he said:
It was the right thing to do and I have always thought my self blessed. I wish I could have adopted more. That said, I am really proud of my boys and the people they have become.
