Provincial Grand Master Unexpectedly Graces Lodge Festive Board
Bro. Lt Col Ian Harper
What was going to be a routine Lodge meeting turned out to being one that ranks in the top three of firsts in Porchway Lodge’s history.
Advertised as a Third Degree ceremony, to raise Bro. Dean Todd, unexpectedly, and with huge delight, turned out to be something that legends are made of.

Just as the first course of the Festive Board was due to get underway, silently and unobtrusively the Provincial Grand Master, without ceremony, entered the room and made his way to Bro. Dean Todd to say hello and congratulate him on being raised to the Third Degree.
There was a definite “gold fish moment”, as many just sat their with mouths open … delighted but stunned at the Provincial Grand Master’s informal but very personal style.
RW. Ian Chandler then spent the best part of ten minutes in deep conversation with him before departing the same way he came in, with quite discretion.

Bro Dean, casually asked the Lodge’s Secretary, W.Bro Malcolm Robinson,
“So, when was the last time the PGM popped in to our Festive Board like this ?” ,
to which Malcom retorted,
“This is the first time he has ever done this in Porchway’s history, he does not normally do this”.
Stunned silence!
