Porchway Lodge is lucky to a boast it is one the few Lodges in the Province of Surrey to not only to have father and son, but cousins as part of its members. In one of the few occasions when work commitments allowed, all attended the meeting on Saturday 12th January at the Croydon Masonic Hall.
Central to the story is W.Bro Steve Poole, the Lodge’s Director of Ceremonies who proposes his cousin Gordon, “Siddy” Sidwell. A while later, W.Bro Steve Poole, as the Lodge’s Master, then proposed his son, Billy and initiated him. For any Dad in Freemasonry, this is must rank as one best moments.
In 2016, one cousin to another resulted in Siddy proposing Bro. Ian Harper as a joining member. The seconder was Ian’s cousin, W.Bro Steve Poole.
We now have father and son, three cousins and two uncles.
More than just Brothers.
