Brethren Attend Annual Church Service At Guildford Cathedral
By Bro. Dean Todd
Inner Guard and Lodge Standard Bearer
A bright sunny late mid September’s day (16th) set the tone for a reflective but important part of our Province masonic year.
Brethren with wives and partners from across the whole of the Province of Surrey in the presence of the Provincial Grand Master attended the annual Church service in Guildford Cathedral.
Porchway were well represented by W.Bro Malcolm Robinson, W.Bro Steve Poole, Bro. Lt Col Ian Harper.

However, of note and of great honour for Porchway, was Bro Dean Todd who carried the Lodge banner as part of the precession. Bro. Dean formed part of a procession of banners from across the Province all being laid to rest during the service in front of the Altar.
In keeping with tradition, the most junior member in the Lodge is selected for this high profile duty and honour. An honour it was as Porchway was one of 12 banners present out of 248 from across the Province of Surrey.

Bro Dean commented, “ It was a honour to be asked to represent the Lodge at such a high profile event.
Yes, I was nervous with so many eyes watching, but being in the centre of the event was just amazing and gave a me real sense of belonging.
This was a once in a lifetime opportunity for me. Being there with my wife just added to making the occasion so much more memorable”.
